下面这段文字是我写的关于《SOLO》第十二册的艺术家Brendan McCarthy的介绍，这段文字完成于2005年，发布在我的Google Blogger上，之前已移植到了这个站点，由于都和《SOLO》相关，便一块儿“卷”在这里了，勿怪……
- 好吧，我们得承认Darwyn Cook画的第五期《SOLO》销量最好，但我个人比较偏爱第十二期，由 Brendan McCarthy 带来的《SOLO》第十二期的画面是让人惊艳的，看着他的画，你应该会想：这家伙怎么可以画成这样，太不可思议了… 嗯，在画这本《SOLO》之前，Brendan McCarthy已经阔别漫坛15年之久了，这就是DC公司为什么最看重这本《SOLO》的原因。当时 Dogmatika 对于漫画艺术家Brendan McCarthy在阔别漫坛15年之久后的重新复出做了一个非常长的报道，Brendan McCarthy带着他和DC合作的《SOLO》第十二期重新开始了他的漫画家事业，为什么他离开了那么久？um~好吧，下面我们来看看发生了什么：
- “去年DC公司准备出版一套非常有趣的漫画，Mark Chiarello 看见了我的网站，他通过Wildstorm的Scott Dunbier找到了我 , 我们有了一次很长的谈话.Mark想要问我，是否有兴趣画DC公司《SOLO》系列的一册.我有所保留地回答了他，主要因为我已经有将近15年时间没有画漫画了，并且觉得我的漫画风格已经落伍了，最主要的是《SOLO》这套漫画的计划里，DC公司将会有严格的控制，所以这可不是我在画自己所创造的英雄漫画，如果我为他们工作，我将不得不小心地去做，要知道这可不是我的风格，但是坦率地讲，我对这个计划是有兴趣的…….. 所以最后我们谈成了，这就有了这本15年后的漫画”
同时，这本《SOLO 12》也是整个《SOLO》系列的最后一册漫画，通过下面的话，可以看出DC对这本漫画的重视程度。

《SOLO》（独奏），DC公司出版的漫画系列，共12册，每一册都请来一个单独的漫画艺术家或者团队在最自由的创作空间里将他们的创意和能力发挥出来，每一册都可以说是一个单册合集（One Shot），在这样的策划下，漫画家们可以最大限度的发挥，自然《SOLO》系列会屡获殊荣。
